Once you have got your new puppy home, we can advise you on the best way to rear and train your puppy.
We start with a one to one puppy consultation where we find out any training/behaviour problems and give advice and training methods. We discuss how to manage the early stages of training and look at some of the pitfalls to be avoided. All this is followed up by a written report and training plan detailing all that we have discussed and how to take the training forward with an idea of time scale.
This can then be followed up with one to one training, either in your own home or in our 1½ acre secure training paddock. We offer individual one to one training or a 6 weeks puppy training package.
We can help with initial training and socialisation including play biting and jumping up, house training, crate training, how to play with your puppy and avoiding some of the early pitfalls. Some of the training we can cover (depending on time and bookings are):
All training is fun and force free and will allow your puppy to begin to think in the right way and will enhance your relationship with your puppy and begin to build that bond with your puppy for the rest of their lives.
As much as possible we recommend training is shared between ALL members of the family, including children, so everyone is treating the puppy in the same way and using the same techniques, cues etc.
Puppy consultations are available daytime and evenings by arrangement
Cost £55 for 1½ hour visit plus report
One to one training £35 per hour
Puppy training packages –
6 one to one training sessions £180
10 one to one training sessions £280
The health scare in March 2020 due to the Coronavirus has had an impact on all of us across the country and across the world.
Although we must be alert to health issues, especially for the most vulnerable, we must also ensure that we don’t neglect issues that will bring problems in the future – like training our dogs!
Therefore, I am going to suspend training for a period of 1 month – training will restart on Thursday 16th April. Training classes on a Monday will restart on Monday 20th April at either 9am or 10.15am and on a Saturday on Saturday 18th April at the normal time.
Following government guidance, as we train predominantly outside, we will carry on training as normal following this period. We will ensure that we follow sensible health and safety precautions ie we will observe social distancing, hand sanitizing etc.
If you would like to book adult behaviour/training consultations or puppy/pre-puppy consultations/training I will be carrying out initial consultations via Skype or video call. Please enquire for bookings.
Many thanks for your ongoing support of Pup School Suffolk
